‘Stranger Things’ 5 Trailer Ready Ahead of Final Season

by Chris Davies

Netflix is gearing up for the long-awaited return of its flagship series, Stranger Things, with the fifth and final season set to premiere in 2025. As anticipation continues to grow, a new update suggests that the first official trailer may be just around the corner.

Nearly three years have passed since Stranger Things 4 debuted on the platform, leaving fans wondering about the extended delay in the show’s conclusion. While production wrapped in December 2024, official news about Season 5 has remained scarce. Set leaks have emerged in the months since filming concluded, but Netflix has yet to release any promotional footage featuring the beloved cast of Hawkins, Indiana.

However, there are now signs that marketing efforts are finally beginning to ramp up.

During an April 2025 livestream on YouTube, entertainment scooper Grace Randolph, known as Beyond The Trailer, hinted that the Stranger Things 5 trailer is already complete. While she declined to reveal an exact release window—citing potential contractual issues with Netflix—she made it clear the promotional material is ready for launch.

“I know kind of when the release dates are, but I can’t tell you that,” Randolph said. “I don’t know when the trailer’s dropping exactly but I know it’s ready. I heard it’s ready to go.”

In a separate post on X (formerly Twitter), Randolph added that she expects the release dates to be announced “very soon.”

This has led to growing speculation that the trailer and official launch dates will be revealed simultaneously, kicking off a full-scale promotional campaign for the final season.

One likely venue for the reveal is Netflix’s upcoming Tudum event, scheduled to stream live on Saturday, May 31, at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET. The global fan event has historically been used to spotlight major Netflix originals, and this year is expected to showcase both Stranger Things 5 and Wednesday Season 2.

Randolph’s reference to “release dates” in the plural has also fueled speculation that Netflix may be planning to split the season into two parts—similar to how it handled the fourth season. This theory aligns with earlier reports from What’s On Netflix, which indicated that Season 5 could be released in waves, possibly beginning in October and concluding in November 2025.

Regardless of the format, fans can expect a packed conclusion. Series star Finn Wolfhard has described Season 5 as being “basically eight movies,” estimating a total runtime of 10 to 11 hours. The scale and scope of the final season suggest Netflix intends to give Stranger Things a send-off worthy of its global popularity and cultural impact.

While an exact trailer drop remains unconfirmed, it’s clear that the wait is nearly over. With a completed trailer, a major event on the horizon, and the series finale on the way, the world of Stranger Things is about to open one last time.
