‘Screamboat’ Trailer Unleashes a Gory Disney Parody

by Chris Davies

Sleight of Hand Productions has unveiled the final theatrical trailer for Screamboat, a darkly comedic and gory reimagining of Disney’s iconic Steamboat Willie. The film transforms the beloved cartoon mouse into a brutal killing machine in a twisted take on the classic animation.

The official description of the film promises an unforgettable ride: “Join us on a New York City ferry where the fun quickly turns into a terrifying nightmare. Steamboat Willie, the mischievous mouse, becomes a monstrous figure wreaking havoc as passengers face a deadly journey. With thrilling kills, outrageous laughs, and a pint-sized terror, Screamboat redefines Steamboat Willie in a way you’ve never seen before.”

The trailer, designed to parody traditional Disney movie promos, features a cheerful voiceover urging viewers to “set sail for an adventure like no other!” As the trailer progresses, it introduces the film’s expanded cast of characters, including five boisterous, drunken knock-offs of Disney princesses: Cindi, Bella, Jazzy, Arianna, and Rory. The trailer kicks off with Cindi enthusiastically leading the group aboard the Staten Island Ferry, shouting, “Let’s get this jungle cruise going!”

David Howard Thornton, known for his role in Terrifier, stars as the homicidal Steamboat Willie. The supporting cast includes Allison Pittel, Amy Schumacher, Jesse Posey, Jesse Kove, Kailey Hyman, Rumi C Jean-Louis, Jarlath Conroy, and Charles Edwin Powell. The film also features cameo appearances by Tyler Posey, Brian Quinn, and Joe DeRosa.

Steven LaMorte takes the helm as the film’s director, writer, and producer, alongside co-producers Schumacher, Martine Melloul, Steven Della Salla, and Michael Leavy. The executive producers include Kali Pictures, Sleight of Hand Productions, Reckless Content, and Julien Didon. Iconic Events Releasing will distribute the film, while DeskPop Entertainment handles worldwide sales and digital releases.

“Screamboat” will hit theaters on April 2, followed by digital and home video releases.
