ESX Films has unveiled the official trailer for Day of Reckoning, a gripping Western crime drama set to hit theaters on March 28, 2025. The film stars Billy Zane (Titanic) and Scott Adkins (John Wick: Chapter 4), showcasing intense action sequences and a high-stakes battle between lawmen and outlaws.
The trailer introduces Zane as U.S. Marshal Butch Hayden, who finally has a chance to apprehend a notorious criminal he has been hunting for years. Adkins plays John Dorsey, a sheriff fighting to hold onto his job and save his wife from imminent danger. Together, they reluctantly join forces to capture the dangerous outlaw, Emily Rusk, who proves to be a formidable adversary, turning the tables on their posse.
The official synopsis teases a tense showdown: “On the verge of losing his wife and his job as sheriff, put-upon lawman John Dorsey reluctantly teams up with bullish U.S. Marshall Butch Hayden to hold outlaw Emily Rusk hostage. A battle of wills ensues as Emily turns the posse on themselves, but as her marauding husband and his gang approach, Emily and John realize they will need each other to survive.”
Directed by Shaun Silva and written by Travis J. Opgenorth, Day of Reckoning features a star-studded cast, including Zach Roerig, Cara Jade Myers, Trace Adkins, and Yelawolf, among others. The film is produced by Ali Afshar, Christina Moore, Daniel Aspromonte, and Don Lepore, with key crew members including cinematographer Keith J.
