The highly anticipated horror film Bring Her Back, the sophomore feature from Australian directors Danny and Michael Philippou, has unveiled its first teaser trailer. The twin filmmakers, who gained fame for their horror-comedy YouTube channel RackaRacka, are back with what promises to be another chilling experience.
The teaser, now available for viewing, gives a glimpse of the film’s unsettling tone, with ominous imagery and a growing sense of dread. The plot, kept mostly under wraps, follows a brother and sister who stumble upon a horrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.
The film’s cast includes notable names such as two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water, Paddington), Billy Barratt (Kraven the Hunter), Jonah Wren Phillips (How to Make Gravy), and newcomer Sora Wong. The Philippous co-wrote the screenplay alongside Bill Hinzman, and once again teamed up with Talk to Me producers Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films. Filming took place in Adelaide, South Australia.
Talk to Me, their breakout success from 2023, was a massive hit, earning rave reviews at Sundance and grossing over $92 million globally on a budget of just $4.5 million. Bring Her Back is set to release in U.S. cinemas on May 30th, with A24, the studio behind Talk to Me, once again distributing the film.
