Actor Unni Mukundan is set to return to the big screen in a completely new role with the upcoming family entertainer Get Set Baby, following the massive success of his intense action film Marco. Directed by Vinay Govind, Get Set Baby promises to deliver a mix of humor, drama, and romance. The film is scheduled for release on February 21.
Mukundan shared the film’s official trailer on his Instagram, inviting audiences to enjoy a fun-filled movie experience. “Presenting the official trailer of #GetSetBaby! This heartwarming family entertainer is all set to hit the big screens on February 21—gather your family and friends for a fun-filled movie experience, you won’t want to miss!” the actor wrote in the post.
In the film, Mukundan plays Arjun, a gynaecologist with strong convictions that “children are blessings from God.” Flashbacks reveal Arjun as the only male student in his MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology class during college. Now, working in a hospital surrounded by expectant mothers and female colleagues, Arjun’s life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Nikhila Vimal’s character, who initially brands him an “egocentric, male chauvinist.” Despite their rocky start, the pair’s relationship slowly evolves, setting the stage for a romance marked by both challenges and growth.
While the love story forms a central element of the plot, Get Set Baby also explores the hurdles faced by both Arjun and Nikhila’s character, adding depth to the narrative. The film features a strong supporting cast including Chemban Vinod Jose, Surabhi Lakshmi, Johny Antony, Sudheesh, Shyam Mohan, Dinesh Prabhakar, and Meera Vasudevan. Written by YV Rajesh and Anoop Ravindiran, Get Set Baby also boasts a musical score by Sam CS, cinematography by Alex J Pulickal, and editing by Arju Benn.
Mukundan’s Instagram post has sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are impressed with his diverse film choices. One fan commented, “Violence is all done with Marco, now it’s time for a peaceful cinema.” Another wrote, “Get Set Baby trailer—vibrant, captivating, and full of charm! Wonderful Mr. Gynaecologist, you made it!” Yet another fan said, “Now it’s time for family entertainment.”
With Get Set Baby, Mukundan offers a refreshing change in his career, moving from intense roles to a more lighthearted, family-friendly film.
