The highly anticipated Jurassic World: Rebirth trailer has dropped, igniting excitement among fans of the iconic franchise. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the fourth installment in the Jurassic World series stars Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson, and Mahershala Ali in pivotal roles.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), Rebirth transports viewers to a world where dinosaurs no longer thrive, with Earth becoming increasingly hostile to these prehistoric creatures. The story centers around a group of scientists on a daring mission to collect genetic samples from three of the largest species on Earth—one from land, one from the sea, and one from the air. The team seeks to obtain the DNA of these colossal creatures, which could hold the key to developing a life-saving drug for humans.
Johansson plays Zora Bennett, an expert in covert operations, while Bailey portrays Dr. Henry Loomis, a dedicated paleontologist. Ali stars as the mission’s leader, Duncan Kincaid, who must guide the team through increasingly dangerous terrain.
As the mission unfolds, Zora’s operation collides with a civilian family stranded on a remote island after their boating trip is interrupted by aggressive aquatic dinosaurs. The team finds themselves trapped on a forbidden island, which was once home to a secret research facility from the original Jurassic Park. Amidst the wild terrain, populated by diverse species of dinosaurs, the group uncovers a shocking, long-buried secret.
The official synopsis teases, “In a terrain populated by dinosaurs of vastly different species, they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that has been hidden from the world for decades.”
Bailey’s character, Dr. Loomis, acknowledges the gravity of the situation: “We have put ourselves in a place where we do not belong. Survival is our long shot.” The thrilling trailer promises heart-pounding adventure, intense action sequences, and stunning visual effects that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
In addition to the lead trio, Jurassic World: Rebirth features an ensemble cast, including Luna Blaise, Ed Skrein, Rupert Friend, David Lacono, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Philippine Velge, and Bechir Sylvain. The film’s script is written by David Koepp, with characters inspired by the works of renowned author Michael Crichton.
Producers Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, both Oscar nominees, are bringing the film to life under the banners of Amblin Entertainment and The Kennedy/Marshall Company. Steven Spielberg, Jim Spencer, and Denis L. Stewart will serve as executive producers.
Jurassic World: Rebirth will hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
