Netflix has dropped an exciting new trailer for Back in Action, which will debut on January 17, 2025, marking the long-awaited return of Cameron Diaz to the big screen after nearly a decade away. The film has already captured the attention of fans eager to see the beloved actress back in action.
Diaz reunites with Any Given Sunday and Annie co-star Jamie Foxx in this high-octane thriller, where they portray Emily and Matt — a seemingly ordinary couple with a not-so-ordinary past. Once CIA operatives, Emily and Matt are now living a quiet life, trying to raise their family and stay off the radar.
“We’re on a mission, and we take this opportunity where people might think we’re dead, to disappear off the face of the planet and start a new life and raise our family,” Diaz explained in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. However, as expected, their past soon catches up with them, plunging them back into a life of danger and intrigue, which is where the action kicks in — as the title suggests.
The trailer teases explosive sequences, including a dramatic airplane crash, setting the stage for the intense action and suspense that will unfold. Additionally, Back in Action boasts an impressive supporting cast, including Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Andrew Scott (Fleabag), Jamie Demetriou (Barbie), McKenna Roberts (Skyscraper), and Rylan Jackson (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves).
Directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Baywatch), who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Brendan O’Brien (Bad Neighbors, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), Back in Action promises to deliver both thrills and nostalgia for audiences.
