Remo D’Souza, known for his successful dance films, is set to bring a fresh tale to the screen with Be Happy, a feel-good dance drama that promises to captivate audiences. Originally slated to star Salman Khan, Daisy Shah, and Jacqueline Fernandez, the film was put on hold, with the team later working together on Race 3. However, D’Souza’s vision for the project was revived with a new cast and a revamped storyline.
Now, the film has found a new lead in Abhishek Bachchan, who will portray a father determined to help his daughter achieve her dreams of becoming a dancer. Nora Fatehi joins him as the female lead, and young Inayat Verma portrays the aspiring dancer. The narrative revolves around a child’s dream of competing in a reality dance show, with her father, a non-dancer, learning to dance himself to support her.
The film, which had been teased during Amazon Prime Video’s slate announcement last year, is set to premiere on March 14, 2025. The recently released trailer has garnered attention for its heartwarming and fun portrayal of father-daughter dynamics and dance. Sharing the trailer on social media, Bachchan posted, “Sometimes it takes two to achieve a dream.”
For fans of dance films, Be Happy appears to have all the right ingredients—great performances, uplifting energy, and, of course, dance. While both Bachchan and Fatehi shine in their roles, it is Inayat Verma’s performance that stands out, demonstrating her impressive talent seen in films like Ludo and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar.
Directed by D’Souza, whose past dance-based blockbusters like ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, ABCD 2, and Street Dancer 3D set high expectations, Be Happy has all the makings of another hit. Although the trailer suggests it could be a theatrical spectacle, the decision to release it on an OTT platform has only added to the anticipation surrounding its premiere.
